Review
Black Roses, Jenn Brink’s debut novel, had me hooked from the very beginning. I gave it 5 stars because I absolutely loved it! It’s phenomenal. I can’t wait for the next book. To be honest, even though it was just released May 12th, I’ve read it four or five times. The characters are well developed and impossible to hate, except the bad guy. It’s pretty easy to hate him; but, everybody hates the bad guy. I love clueless Jessie, super sexy Eric, bimbo chasing Greg, and Barbie, who you only meet for a second but is SUPER awesome.
Besides the characters, there are plenty of other reasons to love Black Roses. It has some seriously awesome plot twists. I read so many books that are supposed to be this great and awesome mystery, but you can tell after a couple chapters exactly how it’s going to end. So not cool! Well, I’m glad to say that this book isn’t one of them. Jenn keeps you guessing until the very end. Will the guy get the girl? What happened to Jim? Who is the stalker sending Jessie black roses? And, most importantly, when will I get to read the next book?!?
After reading Black Roses, I could answer these questions but I won’t. I’ll let you read it for yourself. One question I will answer is, “When will I get to read the next book?!?” The next book in this series, Cerulean Seas is due out this November! I can't wait!!!!
Trust me you do not want to miss Black Roses! You need to read it

Aaaaaaaand, just to show you how epic it is , here's an excerpt from Black Roses!
To be honest, I knew before I started my run where I was going. Stepping across the threshold, I frowned down at my belly roll. Its okay, I rationalized, this can be my breakfast and I’ll run back. That should take care of the extra calories.
I walked into the store and the barista smiled, lifting my mood even more. “Good morning Jessie, the
usual?”
Leaning on the counter for support, I nodded. I was out of breath. The barista’s eyes widened as a warm body lightly pressed against mine. My head turned imperceptibly, allowing me to sneak a look through the corner of my eye. It was Eric. He was all Rambo’d up and he looked angry, again. The effect was heart stopping, unless you were the one he was directing his anger at then it was jarring in a completely different way.
His words were measured as he spoke to the barista in his deep sensual voice. “Coffee, black.”
She nodded and poured a cup, without taking her eyes off of him. She held it across the counter and squeaked, “It’s on the house.”
He gave her a smile that could melt ice, then said, “Thank you.”
By the time he turned to me, the smile was gone. Eric gave me an irritated look. Taking me by the elbow, he half drug me to a table in the back of the coffee shop.
